After giving my prompt, Copilot CLI returns these errors:

Model call failed: {"message":"The requested model is not supported.","code":"model_not_supported","param":"model","type":"invalid_request_error"}

Execution failed: Failed to get response from the AI model; retried 5 times (total retry wait time: 96.5926126843226 seconds)

I have the same problem, but I can use it normally after switching the model to gpt-5, probably because Claude model is not allowed to be used in China at present

Same error occured on my side too, but changing the model did not fix anything. It used to work and then it didn't out of the blue.

I updated the Copilot CLI and it works for me.

I had the same issue, tried upgrading via brew but strangely brew told me it wasn't even installed. I then removed it via rm /usr/local/bin/copilot and installed again with brew. Now it seems to be working again.

I purely installed it via vscode on my end. I tried running on linux 22.04 and 24.04. Still, the same error occurs. I'm on 1.388.0 of github copilot.

had the same issue, solved by playing around with copilot options in the profile menu, some models were all of a sudden disabled
