It works on my side. You should install the package this way:
pip install -r requirements.txt

when we run python3 -m example.main --gin_config=example/configs/leaf.gin, then we get gabor filter kernel from checkpoint, we find the Frequency response of convergence filters are not the mel shape,can you give me some help?

remarks： I get the gabor kernel from below dict keys
tensor_name: _frontend/_complex_conv/kernel/.OPTIMIZER_SLOT/optimizer/v/.ATTRIBUTES/VARIABLE_VALUE
