Colab option unavailable in Python Interactive window.

On macos M4 Pro using Visual Studio Code. When installing I don't see the Colab kernel. I open the jupyter interactive window and select the kernel but I don't see it. I've restarted the VSCode Application and no changes. Might be MacOS M-chip + VSCode related?

Colab support VS Code’s Python Interactive Window?

That would be so lit! I will check it out in the morning, hopefully I can connect to Colab and use VSCode’s Python Interactive Window instead of Jupyter. Though probably still will not convert as a paying user until Colab have GPU instance hourly pricing and NFS offering.

One of the reasons I don’t use Colab was because it’s Jupyter-based and not persistent.

For the Jupyer-based: I prefer to write in a python file. ipython file is not git friendly. Python Interactive Window lets you have Jupyter’s advantage while also git friendly.

For the not persistent: I spent $0.096/hour for a total of 13 hours per day to rent 3090 and NFS about 256 GB. I can turn off the instance when it was not used and during lunch and dinner and turn it back on without having to install python packages or worry about storage. Last time I use Colab, I have to put the processed dataset in Google Drive which I don’t have much storage and increasing the capacity is expensive.

Note: as far I know if we want to increase it, we are buying a plan instead of just increase the storage.
