backup #545

I made a back-up of my Unify controller running on my Raspberry Pi. I flashed the HA OS to my SD-card and installed the addon for Unify and now I get an error message that my back-up is from a new version of the controller:( Any way to restore my network settings or should I add all my Ubiquity devices again to my controller? |
I have seen feature requests to allow downgrades of add-ons, but here is a workaround someone posted: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/add-the-possibility-to-install-a-previous-release-of-an-addon/666952/24?u=piggyback

There is some case where it is necessary to install a previous release of an addon. For example, there is a bug on the zigbee2mqtt Addon which is still in investigation, is very annoying for the zigbee network (https://…

Hi Rene, Thanks for your comment, probably I didn't made clear enough what my problem is. The back-up of my Unify Controller is for the version 9.0.xxx, however the add on is Unified Controller version 8.6.xxx. So I do see three solutions:
My hope is that somebody will update the add-on (option 2) as that is most likely the easiest solution. However I am not yet able myself to do this as I am a newbee in HA:) So would be great if somebody has an idea if and when option 2 will happen! |
OK! Your backup is NEWER than the current version of the add on. There is a PR currently waiting for approval ⬆️ Upgrades UniFi Network Application to 9.0.108 by cwmoriarty · Pull Request #543 · hassio-addons/addon-unifi<#543>
Once that one is approved, you should be able to use your backup. Maybe in the interim set up a new site and once this version is back, restore your backup.
Regards,
René

Hi Rene,
Thanks for your comment, probably I didn't made clear enough what my problem is. The back-up of my Unify Controller is for the version 9.0.xxx, however the add on is Unified Controller version 8.6.xxx. So I do see three solutions:
1. Try to find a way to make the back-ip compatible with version 8.6.xxx
2. hope somebody will update the add-on to version 9.0.xxx in the near future
3. re-adopt all Ubiquity devices into the add-on controller
My hope is that somebody will update the add-on (option 2) as that is most likely the easiest solution. However I am not yet able myself to do this as I am a newbee in HA:)
So would be great if somebody has an idea if and when option 2 will happen!

That is great news, I can wait for some time (assuming approval will not take months:)) and work without the controller as the network is available to use. |
