Game or games this happens in

ULUS-10336 - Crisis Core

What area of the game / PPSSPP

When attempting to transfer a save file from the PSP to PPSSPP, it works fine, but the opposite doesn't seem to be true. My Crisis Core save, originally from my PSP, now only works in PPSSPP, as trying to transfer it back results in it being listed as 'corrupted'.

No files are missing in the folder, so it's probably something inside one of them. Listed it as a Crisis Core issue because it's the only one I've done this on and I can't be sure if this affects other games or not. I'm using a PSP Go with the latest ARK-4 custom firmware, for reference.

Steps to reproduce: Running a game in PPSSPP, either make a save or save over an existing one, then transfer that save to a real PSP. I am uploading my own affected save file for comparison's sake.

What should happen

The save can be transfered back to the PSP without issue.

It might be due to firmware version difference.

Anyway, this (the top comments) might help https://www.reddit.com/r/PSP/comments/pibx8s/ppsspp_as_a_way_to_fix_corrupted_saves/

This "corrupt" savefile issue apparently most often is caused by trying to load a save from an older firmware on a PSP that has a newer firmware

PS: May be we should have a setting to change the firmware version we use for saving?
