Pimp - A Messaging Application

Pimp is a messaging application built with Next 13, designed to provide users with a modern and intuitive messaging experience. With Pimp, users can easily connect and communicate with their friends, family, and colleagues in real-time.

Features

Pimp includes the following features:

  • User authentication: Users can create an account or log in to an existing account using their email address and password.
  • Real-time messaging: Users can send and receive messages in real-time, with support for text, images, and other multimedia content. Group chats are supported as well.
  • User profiles: Users can view and update their profiles, including their name, profile picture, and other personal information.
  • Search: Users can search for other users within the application and send friend requests.

Technologies Used

Pimp is built using the following technologies:

  • Next.js: A React framework for server-side rendering and building web applications.
  • Supabase: A cloud-based platform for building and running mobile and web applications, utilizing PostgreSQL and other open source technologies.
  • TailwindCSS: A popular utility-first CSS framework that helps developers create custom, responsive designs quickly and efficiently. Unlike traditional CSS frameworks that come with pre-designed components and styles, Tailwind provides a set of pre-defined classes that can be used to style HTML elements directly. This allows developers to rapidly prototype and customize their designs with minimal CSS code, resulting in faster development times and more consistent designs. Tailwind also includes many helpful features, such as responsive design utilities, dark mode support, and extensive customization options.
