Why no const assertion on the palette theme object?

G'day, just curious why there's no const assertion on the palette object? i.e.

const palette = {
  neutral100: '#FFFFFF',
  neutral200: '#F4F2F1',
 ...
} as const;

This would mean string literals in the type:

Rather than what is currently just string:

And in some cases this also gives better autocomplete.

Not sure if this is for a specific reason, so keen to fill that knowledge gap for myself if that's the case.
