🏷️ What type of request is this?

New feature - Something Droppy doesn't do yet

🎯 Which area of Droppy?

New area / Not sure

😩 What problem are you trying to solve?

Current Situation
Droppy currently uses an overlay to simulate increasing or decreasing screen brightness for external monitors. While this approach works, it can lead to:

  • Reduced image fidelity, particularly in videos and graphics.
  • Inaccurate color representation when adjusting brightness.
  • Higher CPU/GPU usage due to overlay rendering.

πŸ’‘ Describe your ideal solution

Proposed New Feature
Implement Direct Color Control (DCC) for brightness/volume adjustment. DCC allows direct modification of the display’s brightness at the hardware or driver level, providing true brightness changes without relying on overlays.

πŸ”„ Alternatives you've tried

  • Current workaround is to use monitor controls. Clunky and frustrating; but preferable to an overlay.

⭐ How important is this to you?

🟑 Important - Would significantly improve my workflow

πŸ“Š How often would you use this?

Multiple times per day

πŸ‘€ How do you primarily use Droppy?

  • General productivity (files, clipboard, etc.)
  • Creative work (design, video, audio)
  • Development / coding
  • Writing / content creation
  • Research / academia
  • Business / enterprise

πŸ“Έ Mockups or examples

No response

πŸ“Ž Additional context

Additional Notes

  • Ensure fallback to overlay mode on systems where DCC is unsupported.
