If you add the mouse you are using to the devices.conf and recompile it should be working with your mouse. You can also use a different additional mouse for this. |

Hi!
Can Projecteur follow a regular mouse (NOT a dedicated presentations pointing device) with its "laser pointer" image / "spotlight highlighter" image?
The following sentence on https://github.com/jahnf/Projecteur very much inspires my curiosity:
"... Usable without a presenter device (e.g. for online presentations)"
As a teacher, I do not only "present" but I also "edit in real time" many different kinds of teaching materials on screen for my students during class (text files, spreadsheets, PDFs, contents of browser windows, interactive shared exercise sheets, etc.), mainly via the classroom projector -but also when sharing a secondary screen in online classes.
Just I do NOT use any dedicated pointing device for my teaching workflow.
As I have one hand on the keyboard and the other hand is always moving the mouse, clicking here and there, my workflow is based on using the regular mouse for all pointing purposes.
I have been a long time user of "Cursor Highlighter" (now called "Mouse Highlighter") from Microsoft Powertoys, which is a Windows utility that can generate a highlighted, colored, semitransparent, size-adjustable circle surrounding the regular mouse pointer (which is visible on all kinds of windows system-wide!)...
But 2 weeks ago I decided to do the full OS switch from Windows to Ubuntu Linux...
And now I am apalled that I don't seem to be able to find any suitable mouse-pointer-highlighting utility for Ubuntu Linux:
Could someone please help me understand how exactly is Projecteur "usable without a presenter device"?
Does Projecteur seem likeky to fit my needs?
Any advice or reference will be highly appreciated.
Thanks a lot for bearing with my long message and with my poor English.
Have a nice day!
