This release fixes an oversight in v1.2 where the alternate install method for Chromium left the package susceptible to auto-updating, which in turn lead to instability of the browser.

If you have a working v1.2 installation and don't want to re-flash the image, you can achieve the same effect manually with:

sudo apt-mark hold chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra chromium-browser chromium-browser-l10n

Tech specs:

  • Linux: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (ubuntu-mate-16.04-desktop-armhf-raspberry-pi)
  • Kernel: 4.1.19-v7+
  • Chromium: 50.0.2661.102

  • The README has been updated with better flashing instructions (#7)

The same image works for both the Pi 3 and the Pi 2.
