And one more idea related to this: How about combining Auto Backup with Rclone Backup? The backup is created on the local storage, periodically transferred to an external Rclone Backup storage, which also performs version cleanup on the local storage ... Isn't this the right procedure? |

Hello everyone
please advise: I can't get Home Assistant (HA) to put backups created by Auto Backup to an external drive - yet I have set a remote address as the backup destination in the HA GUI. When I manually run backups from the HA menu, the external path is accepted, but not when I run Auto Backup - it still uses HA's internal storage... Maybe it has something to do with HA's new backup system? I would prefer to stay with Auto Backup though - I like this solution better. Related: Can existing backups be moved from internal to external storage so that Auto Backup continues to maintain version context? Thanks for the advice!
