Feature: kafka broker

Hi John,
Have you seen the recent improvements on the GCN network? They have implemented a kafka broker to manage their VoEvents. It looks a great feature and it would be nice to have an integration with that on your software.
Are you considering implementing a feature that subscribes to a kafka topic and receives voevents?

It also appears that the whole community will adopt this mechanism in the future.

Hi @antonioaddis — I have minimal time to spend on Comet development at the moment (as the commit history of the repository will demonstrate), so, realistically, it's unlikely that I'll be adding any substantial new functionality. Sorry about that!

That said, I do look out for bug reports and feature suggestions, and if enough people ask for this it might help me carve out some time to work on it. So never say never... but don't hold your breath.
