Wow, thank you for this comprehensive guide! This not only saved me a lot of troubleshooting, but also gave me some great tips I wouldn't have thought to search for. The only thing I had trouble with was that I had to add this line to get linting to work: "editor.defaultFormatter": "REditorSupport.r"
