Installing libsdl3-dev on Ubuntu

The instructions for building on Linux prompted to install libsdl3-dev. I assumed this would be similar to installing libsdl2-dev for Nanosaur II. I ran sudo apt install libsdl3-dev just like for libsdl2-dev, but it just gets stuck. Is there any other ideal way to install it?

You assume correctly; I did say so in the title.

But is there any other way to install it manually?

You can run python3 build.py. It'll download and compile SDL 3 from scratch for you, provided you have the correct dependencies.
