I was finally able to clear out my list of issues I had created since work had begun on getting the project back in working order. From what I can tell it looks as though this could qualify as a fairly stable release. Of course, only time will tell as feedback rolls in. Along with fixes for the remaining known issues, all of which had to do with the portal, I was able to add support for more operating systems. Back in the mix is Ubuntu, all except for Noble Numbat which is not playing nice with PiAware as noted in issue #575. Newly added with this release is support for DietPi for those looking to setup a receiver on a very minimalistic OS with support for a wide range of devices. Oh, I also modified the ADS-B Exchange script to ask whether or not to install the stats tools and/or web interface if so desired.

While I await feedback on this release, I plan to add a few new feeder options as well as address any reported issues of which I hope there are none. If things go smooth with this release, I plan to release v2.9.0 along with a Raspberry Pi OS image as I have done in the past. Along with adding more feeder options to be included in v2.9.0, I plan to begin work on cleaning up the atrocious looking code making up my proof-of-concept portal API. Although it will not be part of the v2.x series of releases this will bringing things closer to the planned v3 release which will include the initial version of a ground up rewrite of the portal which will initially include the same features currently present. As things progress with the portal and ideas are thought of I will be sure to update everyone. Please keep in mind I am still open to suggestions when it comes to new features. I will be more than happy to address any requests as work is being done on the new portal.

As always, I look forward to hearing everyone's feedback as well as suggestions as to how things should go from here on out now that things are looking to be back in order.
