No system sound on recorded video

What happened?

No system sound on video. Microphone sound is present. All permissions were given.

What did you expect to happen?

I will have a system sound on my video :D

I have experienced the same, but I bypassed it for now by selecting BlackHole in microphone options.

@Serj92 Thanks for reporting this. Which content did you try to record (window, application, screen or area)? Was the application that produced the system audio part of the selected content? The reason I'm asking is, you won't be able to capture the system audio of, let's say Spotify, if you only capture your Firefox window.

That explains it for me. I was recording a Firefox window while playing a track from Quicktime. How about if an area is selected, would it be able to record the system sound then if its in another app?

It's actually intended to be like this. If I record a single window, I'd expect to only capture the audio of that window. I will leave the discussion open for now to get some more feedback on this.

Ah, that makes sense. How about then integrating it as a separate feature?

The existing 'System Audio' renamed to 'App Audio', and another 'System Audio' option that records all system audio played, since the current naming caused it to unintentionally be reported it as a bug and coincidentally requested as a feature 😃.
