I would prefer if the focus of the application remains on what it was originally intended for: capturing video. I do not want it to be cluttered with other functionalities outside of video capturing. What makes this app great is simplicity and adding other functionalities like screenshots would just make it more bloated.

There are other great (free) screenshot apps for (native) Mac already available such as https://shottr.cc

I agree. It's out of scope for now. My vision for BetterCapture is/was to fill the gaps of the system/native screen recorder wrt professional features (ProRes, HDR, transparency, content filtering) while keeping the UX consistent.
