Extension doesn't work on PNG export

I'm using Inkscape 1.3.2. When I export my image as a bitmap, words like '!' and '()' seem to have no effect.

This tool doesn't do anything upon regular export. It has it's own interface that creates many SVG files (and only SVGs) from a master SVG file. After that, it is expected that you will then export those many SVG files using another tool (such as Inkscape itself), and/or scripting to automate converting the SVGs, into whatever format and size your project requires.
