Election information

Three of the six members of the Jupyter Executive Council will finish their terms this election cycle. Here are some details about this election:

  • Read about the Jupyter Executive Council purpose and responsibilities here.
  • The EC will consist of 6 Council members who serve 2-year terms. Members are elected from the body of the union of all Standing Committee, Working Group, and Subproject Councils (“Union of Councils”, UoC).
    (cf. https://jupyter.org/governance/executive_council.html#council-membership-and-elections)

  • Brian, Darian, and Fernando's two-year terms will end and there will be three seats open for election. Ana, Jason, and Zach's two-year terms will end in 2026.
  • Two of the three seats will be chosen by the votes cast by the Union of Councils.
  • One of the three seats will be chosen by the current Jupyter Executive Council after the votes of the Union of Councils are tallied.

Get involved

  • We are seeking a member of the Union of Councils to serve as Election Chair to help us conduct the election (create the ballots, voter information guide, and tabulate the results). Don't worry, these processes are documented and we will help. If you'd like to help, please reach out.
  • Any member of the Union of Councils may run in this election. Please consider nominating someone or yourself for candidacy after the call for nominations is sent!
