Just found this wonderful app, thanks so much for making it!
I'm currently learning stroke order, and their directions. For this purpose it would be useful if the step-by-step images contained a symbol as to where the current stroke starts. This would be faster to skim than playing the animation.

Thank you for your kind words. We're glad you find it useful! Have you tried using the stroke-by-stroke feature? i.e. clicking on the next/previous stroke button to the left and right of the play button or the keyboard equivalent - Shift-left-arrow and Shift-right-arrow? You can also swipe your mouse pointer left and right over the stroke breakdown images under the animation - that will allow you to repeatedly 'jog' back and forth over part of the animation. Lastly, for an overview of the basic kanji stroke order rules, please take a look at the PDF on https://kanjialive.com/introduction-to-kanji/
