Emoji not supported (UnicodeEncodeError)?

Thanks for this interesting-looking extension, which will save me many missed messages and angry friends. It seems as if emoji are not supported, as it gives me the error
UnicodeEncodeError: 'charmap' codec can't encode characters in position 149-150: character maps to <undefined>
when trying to back up a message with emoji. Can they simply be replaced with placeholders or the encoding improved? Thanks!

Hey, sorry, only just got to this! Is there any chance you can post a full traceback?
I tried a message with emoji and it works for me, so not sure where the error could be just from the message :)
