Bug: Template insertion fails on new scene

Describe the bug
I've set up a project and a template (this happens when I set a template per project or in the general Longform settings). Then I create a new scene. I can briefly see the template text appear and then it immediately disappears.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to 'Scenes'
2. Click on 'New Scenes' and enter title
3. Press enter
4. See template briefly appear and then disappear

Expected behavior
I would like the template to just stay in the editor.

Additional context

I wonder if this is due to screen.garden syncing the empty file in the background and then overwriting the template text? That's at least one reason why the text could briefly appear?
