Need to reset save file so all maps work

All maps used to work. Not sure what happened to the save file that most maps don't work. How can I clean up the save file so that all maps will work?

Have you visited the maps that aren't working since the recent update? The animal populations of most maps got reset with the recent update to the game, and it seems that the initial spawn of all the new animals after a reset doesn't take place until you go to the map.

I have been to all the maps since the recent update, and I'm seeing no change. They are still not working. I've not tried creating a new game yet. That will be a last resort. Just wondering what is causing certain maps not to work. Revontuli works great, as does the Mississippi map. The Rancho map seems incomplete, no Lynx and some of the top animals are not showing up. I have a pop scanner. The same with the Silver Ridge map. All the rest of the maps show hunting pressure only. Also, I'm currently playing the Layton map. The hunting pressure is not current. It looks like a very old save file.

Would creating a new game fix the problem?

Well, starting a new game did not solve the problem. It made it worse. Now all 12 maps do not work. Any solutions?

After the update, most of my maps appeared the same way, but once I visited them and the game populated the map files with animals, and I went back and re-uploaded the game folder to the map website, all of the maps worked properly.

I did get out and reopen all of the maps. I'm in the same situation as before. Revontului and Mississippi maps are working. The rest are not. I'm running PC on Steam and I do use their cloud saving. Since I've already restarted a new game and that hasn't solved the problem. Maybe deleting and reinstalling the game would give me clean save file that might work. Any ideas?

I uninstalled and reinstalled COTW on steam and steam cloud save. It looks like the most recent 5 maps are good. The first 7 maps still show no data. Doesn't appear to be a clean reinstall.

Checking the data on the Silver Ridge Peaks map. The map data does not match my Population Scanner. Showing data but I don't think it's reliable. But the other 4 maps are spot on. Does anyone know how to get a clean save file, so that all the maps would work? Also, what is causing the map files to not work?
