Option for widgets to force refresh

After playing with popup as a big thermostat triggered by clicking a small readonly thermostat I found it better if on close popup triggers a shortpoll to refresh. I could image that to be useful at other times with popup and maybe others when you have done something that affects other elements so need them to reflect that. Hence I'd like to suggest that is an option on all widgets.
