Unable to scroll less pager using mouse when using kitten ssh

Hi, thanks for this wonderful terminal emulator!

I am probably missing something but I am not able to scroll the less or git diff output using mouse when I ssh into a remote machine using kitten ssh. This is not a big concern because I can use simply use ssh or open the scrollback buffer ctrl+shift+h and then it works.

But is there a way to make it work while using kitten ssh and without the scrollback buffer?

That worked with less but it doesn't work with git even after I set:
git config --replace-all core.pager 'less --mouse'.
The terminal colors are all messed up with characters like ESC[36m@@ etc.

Okay, this works:
git config --replace-all core.pager 'less -R'

You cant use just less --mouse you would need to use something like less --mouse -R or similar, read man less. Or better contact the less developer and ask them to fix their broken mouse detection.

For anyone else stumbling on this, following works for less as well as anything else using less for their ouput.

export LESS='-R --mouse --wheel-lines=3'
