ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT when clicking on Spotify links #86
Comments
Are you using uMatrix, uBlock Origin or something similar? |
I am, is there something I need to do to make sure they work with each other? |
Yes. Which one are you using? |
I'm using Origin |
can we bump this, same issue, cant really figure out how to add to whitelist |
I can't reproduce the problem, unfortunately. With Playify and uBlock Origin installed, it works fine for me with latest Chrome on Linux. |
I am using brave, but even with chrome and uBlock uninstalled I'm having issues getting it to trigger. How can I debug if the extension is running at all? Pasting the link to a song in the browser will work, right? |
Just did some more experimenting, even with chrome, and all extensions removed I still got that it was blocked. Also, not sure if this is a related issue, I would only ever be brought to the page if I was first already navigated to the open.spotify link, and then press Ctrl+Shift+R to hard refresh. That was the only way I could get any function(ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT) out of it. |
@kiikoh I ran into this issue earlier as well, using Brave's beta release. My first-run solution: In addition to whitelisting the Spotify domains in uBlock Origin, make sure that Brave Shields are completely "down" for the following Spotify domains:
You may also need to clear Brave's storage for these domains as well (see: After disabling shields and clearing the browser storage, I was able to get Playify to connect with GPMDP by entering the code as prompted, and the Playify tab opened as expected when visiting (Sadly. I still have issues getting the "transfer" function to work, but that's outside the scope of this issue. At least Playify is triggered.) |
Not sure what I can do to troubleshoot
