# List of variables requested for FUNDIV
## Plot level
- **Plot code** => idp
- **Survey date**
DATEECO format dd/mm/yyyy in ecological data
- **Department**
dep in plot data
- **Plot coordinates* (Latitude/Longitude) *(*\color{red} Coordinates of the cell so +/- 500m.** xl93 yl93 "epsg:2154")
- **Is the plot protected** (i.e. nature reserve)
UTA1 and UTA2 provides information type of use (two main use possible so UTA1 and UTA2 give the two main use of the land).
UTA = 4 strict protection (no access)
UTA = 5 other kind of natural reserve
- **Ownership** (public/private) **\color{red} Not available**
- **Altitude** **\color{red} The exact elevation is not available in the public data, you can use the elevation based on cell coordinates.
- **Management history**
Several variables provide information:
dc is harvesting recent history
dc type of harvesting in the last 5 years so during *census*
dc = 0 no recent harvesting
dc = 3 clearcut with additional work
dc = 4 clearcut
dc = 6 harvesting of more than $90\%$ of dominant trees
dc = 6 harvesting between $50\%$ and $90\%$ of dominant trees
dc = 8 partial cut
dc = 9 some tree harvested
**USE only plot with dc = 0 as no information on harvested tree.**
tplant recored information on plantation
tplant = 0 no plantation and other some type of plantation.
gest evidence of past management
gest = 0 no
gest = 1 few trace or old
gest = 2 intensive management
incid recent natural disturbance
incid = 0 no
incid = 1 less than 25 percent of cover
incid = 2 25 to 50 percent of cover damaged
incid = 3 50 to 75
incid = 4 more than 75
plisi to remove plot on forest edge use only plot with plisi = 0
- **Forest type** (European forest type?) **\color{red} Not available**
## Tree
- **Plot** code *idp*
- **Species** *espar*
see species.csv for latin name
- **Tree status** (alive, dead, cut/harvested)
dead = 0 alive / 1 dead
datemort date of death
datemort = 1 less than 5 years ago so during the *census*
datemort = 2 more than 5 years so before
veget type of deadth
veget = 5 standing dead
veget = C standing dead but partly broken
veget = A windthrow
recruit.hb = 1 recruited tree based on hb ir5 prediction for simplified tree
recruit.m = 1 recruited tree based on mean ir5 prediction for simplified tree
- **DBH**
$c13$ circumference at breast height in cm
- **Height**
$htot$ measured for a sample of dominant trees on each plot in m.
- **Sample radius**
$w$ is a weighting variable (per hectare) based on the size of the subplot, potential edge effect, and simplified tree (tree of the same species and same dbh class are not measured but include in this weight before 2009 - tree are simplified when there is more than 20 trees of the same species and same size class).
- **Damage** to the tree (yes/no)
$acci$ only important damage are recorded.
acci = 0 no damage
acci = 1 broken
acci = 2 angle of more tha 30 degree partial uprooted
acci = 3 tree bended
acci = 4 burned
- **Coordinates of the tree in the plot** (angle and distance from plot centre) **\color{red} Not available**
- **Growth measurement** – radial growth **\color{red} Missing for some tree**
$ir5$ is the radial growth 5NOT THE DIAMETER GROWTH !!!!) measurement over the last 5 year measured with short core.
Radial growth is not measured for all tree. Before 2009 these tree with not ir5 measurement were not recored but inlcuded as a weight in $w$. From 2009 there are recorded without missing ir5. I predicted the growth for these tree using either a HB model (**ir5.hb**) or affecting the mean growth of tree from the same species and same size class on the plot (**ir5.m**) (see SIMPLIF.RECRUIT.FORMAT.Rmd).
