Player comes through portal at base block (Fabric 1.20.1)

When I go through the portal, I am sitting inside the base block of the portal and in the case of it generating midair, falling through the base.

I do have other mods, but the regular nether portal puts me at the right y level so I'm assuming it's just an oversight(?)
It could be a portal API Issue, but I have no way of telling.

CORRECTION: this only happens when it links to the end dimension.
