Unsilence is pretty cool, but when using it as a first part of a longer video editing pipeline, I currently end up having to encode videos twice: first during the unsilence operation, and then a second time when rendering the final output.
Instead, it would be cool if Unsilence could output
.mlt
playlists that represent the unsilencing operation, perhaps using thetimeremap
link, though using thetimewarp
producer plus playlists could work just as well. That way, we should be able to include unsilenced videos in our video editing programs and edit them without losing quality or time to reencoding.
In fact, I ended up making a quick-and-dirty script that creates such MTL files, though I might end up eventually redoing it in Python instead, as I somehow can't get it to match Unsilence's output 😅Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
