Preparing a release:

update CHANGES
set version number version in setup.py
create a tag (version)
update documentation cd doc; make publish
generate source distribution: python3 setup.py sdist
upload to PyPI python3 -m twine upload -r pypi dist/*
push the tag git push origin <version>
