Layers is a set of AT Protocol lexicon schemas for representing, sharing, and interlinking linguistic annotation data. This is the place to discuss the project.

Getting oriented

• Documentation covers the full lexicon reference, design principles, and integration guides.
• Lexicon schemas are the source-of-truth JSON files for all 13 pub.layers.* lexicons.
• The project is a draft. Everything is open to revision.

Discussion categories

• Announcements: project updates and releases.
• General: open-ended conversation about Layers, linguistic annotation, or ATProto.
• Ideas: propose new lexicons, schema changes, or integration targets.
• Q&A: ask questions about the schemas, design decisions, or how to use Layers.
• Show and tell: share tools, converters, or projects built on Layers.

How to contribute

The schemas are in active design. If something looks wrong, underspecified, or missing, open an issue or start a discussion. Feedback on naming, structure, and coverage of existing annotation frameworks is especially useful at this stage.
