[Feature Request] Support for alternative calendars.

I utilize Nepali calendar in Gnome with this extension Nepali calendar [extensions.gnome.org]. Having some form of implementation to have current date appear on top bar would be awesome. With positive response from developer this issue is opened to track the progress.
