Describe the bug
A new feature in MM3D and OoT3D was being able to recoil back projectiles in mid-arch (boomerang, Zora boomerangs, hookshot/longshot). But in MM3D with Project Restoration and the HUD mod, if you put hookshot on the secondary buttons (l item and ll item) you can't recoil back the hookshot.
Another small bug that isn't worth its separate post - When first using a transformation mask, the d-pad HUD does not update the instrument for that character until you use the instrument. (i.e. Zora Link will have the Ocarina in the HUD instead of the guitar) This is really minor and doesn't affect anything.
Additional context
I am playing on Citra with the HD HUD mod and Project Restoration

This one actually isn't a bug! It's just how it works in MM3D. The ocarina button doesn't show the form-specific instrument icon until you've used that instrument at least once. There's at least one cutscene where this behavior makes sense: when you play the Song of Time for the first time atop Clock Tower and Tatl expresses surprise about the Deku pipes.
The bug I posted about not being able to recoil back hookshot on the secondary buttons is actually in the unmodded 3DS version as well. On the 3ds using the touch control buttons, it is impossible to recoil back hookshot. So seems like an oversight/bug by grezzo, not the moditself.
