MIDI playback does not work on Apple Silicon due to a JZZ issue that prevents it from detecting any MIDI devices:

JZZ().info().outputs returns empty list on macOS 13 Ventura ? jazz-soft/JZZ#71

This has been fixed in jzz v1.5.8
