Wing Commander III (USA, Europe) sound cuts out during videos

I am using a .chd file of Wing Commander III and during videos sounds plays fine for a few seconds, then crackles and then goes out completely. I am using Retroarch on Android. My device should be beefy enough, so that this should not be related to performance (I am using an Ayn Thor).

Is this a known issue?
