Possibility to opt-out of notifications about forums

I am sorry if this is not the place for this, this was the best fit I could find. Anyway, my question/suggestion: is there a way to opt-out of notifications about forums you previously commented on? I commented on Is Chess A Game of Luck? weeks ago and I am still getting notifications in the side bar about it because comments are still active. It is to the point where it is quite annoying, and it clutters the sidebar. After looking around I can't figure out how to turn them off to declutter things. If this is not a feature, I humbly request that it be considered in future updates. Knowing that commenting on a blog will result in getting sidebar notifications long after you've lost interest discourages me from participating in the discussions. While getting the sidebar notifications for such things is a useful feature, being able to notify the system that you are no longer interested would be equally as useful. Thank you for considering my suggestion.

Is that a post that you recently got a timeline notification for? It looks like it's only applicable for those.

The notifications say a week ago. I have just commented on another article to see if the button comes back. Nothing yet, but no one has commented in a few days, so we will see if it pops up once I get a reason for a notification.

It looks like the subscription wil auto expire after a while and so the "subscribe" button disappears. It did appear on other forums that I participated in and I was able to "unsubscribe". Thank you for helping me with this issue!
