Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

MinIO, a widely used open-source cloud storage solution, sometimes lacks compelling advantages over traditional file systems. Additionally, Amazon S3, a popular cloud storage service, can become costly for organizations with large storage needs or frequent data access.

Describe the solution you'd like

We propose introducing a feature that empowers users to choose the storage location for individual files within MinIO and Amazon S3. This enhanced flexibility would enable users to optimize data placement based on specific requirements, improving usability and cost-effectiveness.

Describe alternatives you've considered

  1. Implementing a file relevance assessment mechanism to identify and manage redundant files within MinIO and Amazon S3, especially when certain files are already available in open access or duplicates.
  2. Offering enhanced cost monitoring and optimization tools within Amazon S3 to help organizations control their storage expenses.
  3. Providing more differentiating benefits for MinIO, potentially through improved performance, additional integrations, or ecosystem enhancements.
