  • The back button in the notifications for 'Followed Projects' and 'Events' doesn't work as expected.
When I press the back button, I expect to be taken back to the previously visited page (in my case the notification page).

  • However, instead of returning, I am redirected to the project website of the event.

  • And also, the breadcrumbs displayed do not reflect my actual navigation on the website. I believe the back button mistakenly follows the breadcrumbs instead.

(How I navigated: meinBerlin - notifications- followed projekts)

@CarolingerSeilchenspringer @MarleyMi tagging you here because I know that you're working on including the "back" button. This would probably require a larger concept/more work to fix (because currently we don't know "where" a user came from (i.e. if they came over the project detail page or the notifications, and we'd need to know this in order to have the breadcrumbs/back button reflect that).

The problem is that the user can (apparently) not only access the detail pages from the project page but also from the notification feed.

Can we know where the user was before to redirect him/her back correctly?
Or can we simply redirect the user to the main project page when he/she clicks on the notification and not to the detail pages? @janeklqd

There is a way to always just redirect the user to the previous page (basically like clicking the "back" browser button), but the issue with that is, that if you come from google or anywhere else, it will also go back to google or anywhere else.

Otherwise you can think about giving a more specific wording like "Back to project page"

This is possible? That’s Awesome!! @CarolingerSeilchenspringer @janeklqd We should now consider adding more back buttons throughout the platform. Simply labeling them as "Back" would be better since users can navigate to our pages from various entry points, and we don’t always know their exact path. If we were to name it "Back to Project Page," for example, it might be misleading—especially if the user arrived from the Notification page like described in this issue.
