injecting additional HTML/JS?

the server injects `injected.html` when it starts. is there a way to inject my own custom HTML/JS/etc?

for example, if i wanted `console.log("this is a preview!")` while the server is running, but not include it in the actual files the server is watching.

it seems like maybe middleware is supposed to allow this, but i'm not really clear how it works?
