Mars 3 & Mariner: quick question on serial connection

Hi all,

I've just ordered a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W for installing Mariner and managing my Mars 3.
My question is regarding where to connect the serial port: should I connect only Tx, Rx and GND on the top right?

That looks like it (I imagine you meant the headers on the top right of the board). Keep in mind a couple things:

1. I'm not sure anyone has tried to use the Mars 3 with mariner yet
2. More modern firmwares like 4.4.3 don't work well yet, but there's a lot of discussion on it here: No Control of Mars Pro Printer at Firmware 4.4.3 #453

Do keep us up-to-date on how it goes! Once we confirm that it works we can update the documentation.

hi @bulgaro80 - any news on this? We just got our Mars3 and would love to put it under the control of mariner3d just like our Smini4K...

I was waiting my father for soldering the GPIO to the raspberry. I should receive tomorrow evening and I'll try. I'll keep you posted.

Unfortunately after soldering the GPIO, the raspberry doesn't switch on anymore... 😫😫😫

Have you closely inspected the solder pads? Or better, do you have a multimeter? You have most likely shorted a 3.3V and a 5V power pin or any power pin and ground. The former might damage the Raspi, the latter will not.
