The current website for m2lines template is a bit old and has new features added on through hacky HTML code, ex: Code page, Publications, Talks page etc.

While this works, the visual presentation of the website has room for improvement. This issue will serve as a forum to discuss expectations for the website such as

  • link to code repositories
  • clean publication links with previews
  • talks with previews and links
  • clear infographics and visuals on the landing pages

Developing a website from scratch is not advisable as that is not our goal, instead we need to find the right template that satisfies the above example requirements and presents the content of the current website in a cleaner format.

Let me know your thoughts on this and share any websites you find as a good match, ex my portfolio site is heavily customizable but there might be better ones out there

The content in the website looks great and even adding automation with google forms that @IamShubhamGupto mentioned is a great idea!

Just wanted to list some of the features that can be improved in the visual presentation of the website:

  • Non-Uniform font sizing for similar elements in a page. (For example in page - https://m2lines.github.io/about/)
  • Low Text contrast with dark background images
  • Schmidt Futures logo at the footer could use a lighter background color to make it look more appealing.
  • Font could be changed across the website to something more appealing. But this might be difficult with the current template.
  • Better Template code for HTML elements like forms (again for presentation).

Publications, Code, News and other related sections are great the way it is (with minor changes) since simplicity is the best way forward.
