Office365 Rooms

Hi

I'm testing self hosted + office 365.
My logged user is an office365 admin.

I've observed the following:

1. if i create an event tru tablet connect in spacepad the event is not reflected in the 365 room
2. if i create and event in 365 room (tru outlook for example) this is reflected on tablet connected to spacepad

Is it a know issue ? is spacepad intended to be only "readonly" against Cloud resources ?

I don't quite understand your issue.
My issue is more generally a question ok how spacepad is supposed to work rather than an issue with it.

I have the feeling that spacepad does not update the cloud meeting room calendar but simply get data from it and display on the tablet , which is quite limiting since it has the book feature that does not update the cloud resources but simply the one on the spacepad's side.

Are you able to get the list of meetings/events of a Room type account? Mine got nothing but I can book on the app and not updating the cloud.

Yes im able to get cloud events coming from a meeting room type resource.

how did you configure your room type account? also the API permission? I added all Calendar and Places permissions but still did get all the events. Also, the app is crashing on a docker without any detailed information. Can you share how you configuration looks like? If it is ok? Thank you

nevermind. i figured out the issue. my account should have permission to the Room type account.

Hi buzzzo, your observations are correct. As of right now M365 (Google & caldav as well) are read only. They always have been since Spacepad was created. So when using the booking function it will not actually push the event to the source calendar.

There's also good news. I'm currently working on the functionality needed to request 'write' permissions and use these to also write the events back into the calendar. This will be released for M365 first, then not long after for Google and Caldav.

@buzzzo beta testers always welcome! It's live on app.spacepad.io now. You can reconnect any account by clicking on the button again, only now you will get the option to select 'read & write', which asks for write permissions. If you give write permission then events will now be automatically written back to the calendar. Could you let me know how it went?

@buzzzo ah, of course. Yes it is actually. Use the ghcr.io/magweter/spacepad:dev image instead of ghcr.io/magweter/spacepad:latest ;) Once released it will become 'latest', so for general availability.

Hi I've updated the dev image and now I've the o365 account in read write mode in spacepad web admin (user is global o365 admin too) So I've tried to create an event on the spacepad side expecting it will appear on the o365 side,but nothing happened. Note I've used the "book now" feature on the spacepad side .
