Roadmap and advertisement

idea to merge suwayomi extension with nice frontend is rly great and deserve little more attention from community so if you want it than r/selfhosted is nice place to advertise it to get more people on board

And second topic do you have some clear roadmap/plan I can see there is 2.0 branch I want to jump in with some small pr with bug fixes but if the soft is in rewrite stage than I will just wait for it

Nice 🙂 I honestly wasn’t looking for much attention right now. I mostly did it for myself and just shared it. But that’s a good call; let’s aim for it for 2.0.

Removing Suwayomi, I was able to run Mihon extensions directly in .NET. This might alienate some users, but looking ahead, Suwayomi was becoming a limiting factor. Ultimately, Kaizoku.NET’s real requirement is running Mihon/Tachiyomi extensions, since those are the ones actively maintained, removing the intermediation.

The import and maintenance features need a full revamp. They have many edge cases and nuisances, and I’m not happy with their current state. When I first built them, the goal was to push forward and get things working; now, from a user perspective, they’re clearly lacking. And some pages, like downloads, needs love.

I’ve been toying with the idea of adding OPDS, but that opens another can of worms. I’m not very keen on introducing another app responsible for view state and user management. I’ll likely explore third-party tracking and user association instead.

Go ahead and open the PR against master; we’ll merge it back into 2.0 afterward. The current changes focus on the Kaizoku ↔ Mihon extension bridge (replacing the Kaizoku ↔ Suwayomi interaction) and the related database migration.

I expect to have a working 2.0 build by next week.
