These are archival satellite images of the eco-village Kuchari (Ladoslavne) in Kyiv region. The shots may not be perfectly clear, but the transformation is evident—from degraded, abandoned agricultural fields to flourishing, cultivated plots.

The eco-village spans around 50 hectares, with individual plots where settlers have gradually reclaimed and replanted the land. However, this area endured heavy shelling during 2022, and some shells still lie embedded in the soil. The explosions and fires severely damaged local forests and orchards, but today, residents are slowly bringing it all back to life.

To me, this stands as a vivid example of what eco-villages can do for nature and how we might regenerate ecosystems through rural initiatives.

What are your thoughts on this approach?
