Proposal

I suggest we should add Edge Android in the compatibility page:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/WebXR_Device_API

Currently, we have bunch of the mobile apps, but we don't have Edge Android on it.

I suggest we should add Edge Android inside it. The started version is 131.0.2866.0

We currently don't have browser-compat-data (BCD) for Edge Android, see the supported browsers here.

Edge Android appears to have a market share of less than 0.5% (source), and is using the same version numbers as Chromium according to this comment.

@Leteno Did you observe any difference in feature support between Chrome Android and Edge Android? In the mentioned case, I would expect Edge Android to support WebXR since version 79, just like Chrome.

See also the data guidelines regarding Addition of browsers:

To add a new browser to BCD, we need evidence of (in decreasing order of importance):

  • a compelling downstream-consumer story (e.g., MDN or caniuse express an interest, or someone is planning to do something with the data that might plausibly grow BCD's reach)
  • reviewers (e.g., two or more people with interest and ability to test data relating to new and existing releases, or at least one reviewer acting on behalf of the vendor)
  • a release process allowing BCD to publish stable release information in a browsers/ file (containing release notes with version numbers and dates)
  • documentation (e.g., how to get and test a feature in that browser, links to resources that might help with it, etc.)

Yes, @caugner Edge Android is not supported WebXR since version 79. Starting from 131, it began to support WebXR
