As Mealie's user base keeps growing, I noticed some questions are being asked somewhat regularly on the Discord server. Things such as how to log in for the first time, how to mark recipes as breakfast/dinner/lunch/etc. in the meal planner, etc.
Having some sort of system to handle these things first time Mealie users might not be aware of would make user experience better in my opinion.
As a developer myself, I am well aware that creating a nice and efficient FTUE is a huge task but still, I think having a discussion about it somewhere is worth it.
A nice first step could be having banners in pages where the user might benefit from a discreet feature.
Some banner examples:
Welcome to Mealie! Please refer to your setup or the documentation (with link) to get the default credentials.There aren't any rules defined. Would you like to create one? [link to Meal Plan Rules] [don't show again]Ingredients can have labels set to them to make them easier to sort according to your shop's layout. [link to documentation] [don't show again]That way, Mealie would make users aware of tiny feature buried within pages without having them to comb the whole documentation.
