Namespace package problem

When trying to "python setup.py develop" the panda plugin with the latest version of mediadrop from github, I get this error:
writing entry points to MediaCore_Panda.egg-info/entry_points.txt
error: Namespace package problem: mediacoreext is a namespace package, but its
init.py does not call declare_namespace()! Please fix it.
