[Feature Request] separate audiofile download ? #755
Comments
There is an option to link JDownloader (JD) towards MV. JD offers videos in different audio languages (german and french in my following example) and different subtitle languages, and you can use the context menu to extract the audio track only): ![]() If you prefer FHD videos (JD offers only HD versions as highest quality) and like to mux multiple audio tracks into one video container, you may try yt-dlp (a CLI client) for this task (cf. this manual in the forum). |
thanks JDownloader seams not to offer serrate audio files - it can extract audio but for that the video/audio stream has to be downloaded first.. yt-dlp gives me errors
seams that for my distro i can' t install a new version of yt-dlp than stable@2023.07.06 - this may the cause :-( |
There is no way to download audio only when the sender only provides video+audio. |
At least ARTE provides audio only tracks, if you use the HLS way. Such URL are provided by yt-dlp or VDH, cf. this broadcast: @rocky-III: MV only supports URL referring to progressive downloads, not adaptive ones (HL Streaming). |
@styroll thanks and e.g. this URL works as download link also Why not can MV offer such links? |
Because those links have to be extracted form another ARTE API (than used for the URL in the "Filmliste") and require a helper application (e.g. ffmpeg) to combine the separated audio and video tracks provided by this API. And because the web client MVW – using the same "Filmliste" as MV – can't make use of a helper program, the MV project only supports progressive downloads (audio and video tracks already combined together in one MP4 container). And extracting from both API is not an option. |
Thanks for MediathekView !
One question:
some titles are offered with more than one audio version - like most titles form arte . It would be interesting to have an option to get more than one audio version of a title without the need to download the title twice .
Or if the different audio versions could be also downloaded just as separate audiofiles would be helpful and save energy, reduce emission
