I'm in favor of option 2. I think Alex @ Harness already got Metabase working as a Meltano plugin, we should reach out to him to get that on the Hub and use it as a starting point. |

@pnadolny13 I'm fine with having Metabase deployed as well! This just requires us to lean into the handbook more for SSOT for which tool is used for what. |

I've been using Metabase locally to explore/visualize data while developing and I really like it. I mostly use it as a development and exploration tool right now. Its much easier for this in comparison to Superset, although I think Superset has a larger library of charts so that might be superior for dashboards. I can see a world where its useful to have both but it adds extra overhead to have multiple tools.
Options:
1 is good but I think some people are less interested in spinning up a local instance. 2 adds more overhead especially for our relatively small project but could potentially be worth it if we really do think Metabase is the best tool for us to explore and Superset is the best tool for us to report/dashboard. 3 could be reasonable if we test out Metabase more and confirm that its not lacking in charting abilities.
I found this article to be helpful and pretty accurate https://medium.com/vortechsa/choosing-an-analytics-tool-metabase-vs-superset-vs-redash-afd88e028ba9.
