New Features and Enhancements

Property Annotations

  • CEDAR now allows metadata templates to be annotated with property URIs from BioPortal. These annotations allow CEDAR metadata templates to express complex relationships between template components. As with class annotations, these annotations are carried through to metadata instances thus providing the ability to generate fully linked RDF graphs for these instances. Implementing tasks here.

Template Model Enhancements

  • A significant amount of work was performed to harden the CEDAR template model and to enhance it to support property annotations. The model document was updated to reflect these enhancements. Implementing tasks here.

REST Validation Endpoint

  • REST endpoints were developed to allow users to validate model artifacts. Implementing task here.

URI Field Type

  • The Workbench now includes a new Link field type that allows users to enter URIs of resources that may be external to CEDAR. Implementing task here.

External Validation of Metadata

  • CEDAR's submission server was enhanced to support metadata validation for LINCS submissions. Implementing tasks here.

Front End Usability Enhancements

  • A number of front end usability enhancements and bug fixes were performed. Implementing tasks here.

Docker

  • Several CEDAR components were containerized using Docker. Release 1.2.0 will include a complete Docker-based deployment, which will dramatically ease future cloud deployment of CEDAR and will allow third parties to deploy their own CEDAR instances. Implementing tasks here.

All tasks completed for the 1.1.0 release can be found here.
